  • National Oil Company: Advising on its entry onto the Russian exploration and production scene by taking a 49% interest in a joint venture for oil production in western Siberia.
  • Far Eastern trading house: Advising on the Risk Service Agreement structure and other documentation for a joint venture with a Russian state-controlled company for exploration and production in the Russian offshore Far East.
  • International oil company: Advising on the acquisition of sites in Moscow and St Petersburg for the establishment of a network of petrol stations.
  • Russian state-controlled company: Advising on a joint venture for offshore production with the national oil and gas company of a country in southeast Asia.
  • Oilfield services company: Advising on its entry onto the Russian oilfield services market.

Contact information virtually all areas of law relating to energy and natural resources  financing transactions. During the course of his has advised IOCs, NOCs, independent explorers and producers, traders, as well as petroleum industry supply and service companies.

  • He has also advised a broad variety of financial institutions on banking and financial services matters. He has worked in-house as well as in private practice.
  • He currently focuses broadly on matters where English-law-governed documentation is used for cross-border transactions relating to Russia (M&A, JVs, commercial agreements), on cross-border regulatory issues and on oil and gas.
  • Doran is also developing his practice as an arbitrator. He focuses on disputes relating to
